This year’s FOM CEO Retreat and Conference was a time of great blessing as we came together for encouragement, fellowship, and learning. Rev. Andrew Bunnell and his staff certainly treated us with warm southern hospitality..
For our Annual FOM CEO Retreat we enjoyed a relaxing time as well as a message from Andrew Bunnell on Sunday morning reminding us of the importance of staying true to Scripture. Sunday evening was a time of reflecting on the goodness of God during the past year as well as discussions on current challenges in missions.
During our annual business meeting we welcomed into Fellowship of Missions, Fellowship International Mission located in Allentown, PA and led by Dr. Paul Barreca. Due to previous responsibilities, Dr. Barreca was unable to be with us, but the Southeastern Representative, Dr. Steve Wilt and his wife, Sue, were present to represent the agency.
This year’s conference theme was, “Shepherding the Sent.” On Monday evening we were reminded that the value of a missionary is not in what is produces but rather in the person that he is. He or she should not be treated as a disposable. On Tuesday we participated in 3 sessions touching on how to shepherd those under our care from the time we first have contact with them through their years of retirement. Wednesday morning was dedicated to pulling together what we had learned and how to flesh it out in our various ministries.
Next year’s meetings will be hosted by Baptist Mid-Missions in Cleveland, OH. The dates are September 5-9, 2026. Along with our agency members, we especially invite agency leader guests to be with us for both the FOM CEO Retreat (guests are free) and the Annual Meeting (Free registration).
Judy and I count it a rich privilege to serve alongside these godly, dedicated mission agency leaders and their wives. Truly we are striving to reach the world for Christ together!
